Exhibit Opens today with Reception on Sunday, May 15 from 2:00pm-4:00pm

GOHSLogo150Greater Oneonta Historical Society (GOHS) presents its new exhibit “From the Collections” at its opening Friday May 13 at the Oneonta History Center, 183 Main Street.  As at most museums, the vast majority of GOHS’ collections are not on permanent display. This exhibit will showcase a sampling of the thousands of items in the collections. Visitors will see items that have been in the collections for decades as well as new donations. GOHS executive director Bob Brzozowski says, “This is the perfect time to show the breadth of GOHS collections. Construction has resumed on the second floor construction storage space, with plans to move the collections back to the History Center in September, assuming successful fund raising and no glitches in the construction project.”

A reception for the new exhibit will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday May 15. Refreshments will be served. The reception is free and open to the public. “From the Collections” is scheduled to run through Saturday August 20. The History Center’s current exhibit, “183 Main Street: 150 Years of History” will share the first floor exhibit space with “From the Collections”.
