The Greater Oneonta Historical Society (GOHS) has achieved much since receiving its state charter in 2000. Shortly thereafter, it purchased the oldest brick building in Oneonta, located at 183 Main Street which today houses the Oneonta History Center. On average the Center welcomes 6000 visitors of all ages each year. This year the building that is home to the Oneonta History Center celebrates its 150th anniversary. This milestone will be marked throughout the year with special exhibits, programs, and events,
To honor the building’s sesquicentennial year and with the purpose to increase its endowment, GOHS is seeking 150 individuals, families, organizations, or businesses to donate $150 between April 4 and August 31, 2016 (150 days). Members of this “GOHS 150” will receive a limited edition commemorative item and be recognized in GOHS’ quarterly newsletter. Donations can be made by cash, credit card, or check payable to GOHS and dropped off at the Oneonta History Center or mailed to GOHS, PO Box 814, Oneonta, NY 13820. Credit card payments may be made via PayPal at http://www.oneontahistory.
